Lorbriqua, containing Lorlatinib, is a next-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) used primarily for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with specific gene mutations (ALK-positive or ROS1-positive). It works by inhibiting the action of abnormal proteins that promote cancer cell growth, helping to stop or slow down cancer progression.
Uses:
Treatment of advanced or metastatic ALK-positive NSCLC.
Treatment of ROS1-positive NSCLC.
Mechanism of Action: Lorlatinib is designed to target and inhibit the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and ROS1 receptors. By blocking these proteins, it prevents tumor cells' growth and proliferation.
Dosage and Administration:
Recommended Dose: 100 mg orally once daily.
Lobriqua should be taken at the same time each day with or without food.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet; swallow it whole with water.
Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next dose.
