Shikakai Shampoo

Shikakai helps in balancing the PH level of the hair thus keeping the scalp healthy and dandruff free. Marshmallow root has properties to soothe a dry scalp. It acts as a conditioner and detangles the hair easily.

Apart from this, reetha treats hair fall. It has the properties of strengthening the roots, which reduces hair fall.

Material -

  • 5-6 shikakai pods.
  • One teaspoon of marshmallow root (you can add some marshmallows if your hair is very dry).
  • 1 to 2 reetha (if you have dry hair then take one reetha and if you have oily hair then take two).
  • 4-5 cups of water.
  • 3 drops of lavender oil.

Method -

  • You can mix these mixtures with the help of three steps.

First stage -

  • Keep all the herbs soaked in water for 8 to 15 hours.
  • This makes the herbs soft easily.
  • By doing this, you will not even need to cook them much and their benefits will remain intact.

Second step -

  • First of all, take a utensil from which stains are easily removed.
  • Now add water to it and then mix all the herbs in it.
  • Then let it boil for some time.
  • Now reduce the gas a little and then let the mixture boil for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • If the water becomes less then you can add more water to it.
  • Then turn off the gas, keep the utensil covered, and wait for it to cool down.
  • Now filter the herbs and then mix the essential oil in that mixture.

Third step -

  • Apart from these herbs, you can also take other herbs and essential oils like nettle, lavender, chamomile, amla, etc.

  • First, wet the hair.
