While we do a lot to take care of the skin on our face, the lips often get ignored, even though they need just as much care to remain soft and healthy. Lips can be made beautiful with some home remedies. Most people use sugar and coconut oil to remove the darkening of the lips and skin. However, there are other ways through which the lips can be made soft. In this article, we share some such easy methods.
Sugar and Vaseline
The mixture of sugar and Vaseline can make the lips beautiful. To try it, dip a cotton ball in Vaseline to coat it well. After that, wrap the cotton with sugar. Now, rub the skin and lips lightly with cotton. After rubbing for about 10 minutes, wipe the lips with some more cotton. Use lip balm or lipstick to maintain the moisture on the lips.
Using a toothbrush
Dip a soft toothbrush in some warm water or a moisturizing oil, such as coconut oil, and use it to brush your lips gently. By doing this, the lips not only remain smooth and soft, but their lost moisture also returns.
Sugar and water
With the help of a mixture of sugar and water, lips can become shiny. To try, take water in a bowl and dissolve sugar in it well. Be careful not to dissolve the sugar completely. Now rub the mixture on your lips. You will feel your lips becoming soft after rubbing for a while. Repeated use will ensure that the dead and dry skin from your lips is gradually removed.

Avoiding acidic foods
To make the lips shiny, consume less acidic and salty foods. For example, acidic foods include oranges, kiwis, orange juice and lemonade. These foods can not only irritate your lips, but they can also make the lips dark. Additionally, salty foods can make your lips dry. This does not mean that you should give up these foods forever but it could help if you consumed them in moderation.
Don't put teeth on your lips
Some people have a habit of biting their lips or moving their tongues over their lips. This habit is not good for the lips and will make your lips look dry and chapped. Repeated biting of the lips exposes the delicate skin, causing it to break easily. Although saliva is moist in nature and helps in preventing your lips from drying out, it is not right to apply saliva on the lips again and again.

Drinking plenty of water
Drink 8 glasses (2 liters) of water daily to maintain moisture in the lips. If you keep yourself hydrated, it will not only make the lips look smooth but will also remove the cracks from the lips. By drinking water, along with the lips, the skin will also remain healthy.
