myUpchar Patient Care Process

After you purchase Covid-19 Home Care Package, the following patient-care protocol will be followed:

Day 1

A health expert will call within 30-45 minutes to collect the patient’s medical history and current medical status. This will be followed up by a call from a doctor who will confirm that the patient has a mild case of Covid-19 and provide a prescription as well as other necessary guidance. The doctor will also schedule the follow-up call for Day 5. Please note that you are advised to procure the medicines from a local pharmacy to start the treatment immediately.

After the consultation, you will receive a WhatsApp/e-mail message with a diet plan and COVID homecare guidelines.

Days 2 to 14

Daily check-in with the patient and recording of important parameters (temperature check, SpO2 level) will be done on days 2 to 14.

A doctor will be alerted if serious signs or symptoms develop. These could include:

1. Difficulty in breathing
2. Dip in oxygen saturation (SpO2 < 94% on room air)
3. Persistent pain/pressure in the chest
4. Mental confusion or inability to arouse

Based on the assessment, the doctor may modify your treatment and ask you to follow the updated plan accordingly.

In case the doctor feels that the situation warrants hospitalization, you will be notified immediately and asked to make the arrangements. Please note that myUpchar will not be able to assist with the hospital admission or oxygen supply, and you will have to arrange it on your own.

Day 5

All the steps followed on day 2 along with the scheduled doctor call.

If there is any serious sign or symptom, the team will alert the patient to get admitted to a nearby hospital.

Day 14

Majority of the patients normally recover by this time. However, in some cases, patients may need some level of care in the following months due to weakness or other post-Covid symptoms. A doctor will call and advise you about post-Covid care and may suggest a treatment plan to ensure full recovery.
