Foloup is a prescription drug, available for use as Syrup, Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Bronchitis. Other than this, Foloup has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.
Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Foloup. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.
Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Foloup as well, which are listed below. Usually, these side effects of Foloup go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.

Breastfeeding women may feel side effects of Foloup. If you see any side effects, stop taking Foloup immediately and talk to your doctor. Take Foloup again, only after your doctor's advice.
What is the effect of Foloup on the Kidneys?
There can be some harmful effects on your kidneys after taking Foloup. If you witness any side effects, discontinue its use. Consult your medical practitioner, do as he/she suggests.

Is it able to treat mental disorders?
No, the use of Foloup in mental disorders is not effective.
Interaction between Food and Foloup
Taking Foloup with food does not cause any problems.
Interaction between Alcohol and Foloup
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Foloup with alcohol will be.
Avoid taking Foloup with azithromycin, because it can cause heart-related problems. However, if you are experiencing any discomfort after consuming these two medicines at the same time then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
Foloup should be ideally taken with food(a light meal). Take this medicine in the required quantity and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote bacterial resistance which results in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. Incase you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
Yes, Foloup can cause liver toxicity if taken in higher doses for a long time. You are advised to get regular liver function tests done to keep a check on proper liver functioning while taking this drug.
Occasionally, Foloup can cause drug-induced thrombocytopenia (blood clot formation in a vessel). However, if you experience severe thrombocytopenia after taking this medicine, please immediately seek medical help.
Rarely Foloup can cause neurotoxicity. It is a reversible side effect of this drug, the symptoms caused due to drug-induced neurotoxicity often disappear after this drug is stopped. However, if you experience convulsions, agitation, weakness and severe nausea do not hesitate to inform your doctor without any further delay.
