Balasana is a relaxing posture. It can be done after any asana.

We are giving the method of doing Balasana in detail here, read it carefully.

  • To do Balasana, sit in Vajrasana on your yoga mat or on the ground.
  • Now while inhaling, raise both the hands straight above the head. Do not join the palms.
  • Now while exhaling, bend forward. Keep in mind that you have to bend from the hip joints, not from the waist joints.
  • Keep bending forward until your palms rest on the ground.
  • Now rest the head on the ground.
  • Now you are in the posture of Balasana, relax the whole body and take long breaths in and out.
  • Join the fingers of both hands together tightly. You have to support the head by placing it between them.
  • Now place the head gently between both the palms. Keep your breath normal.
  • You can stay in Balasana from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
