According to dietician Kara Herbstreet, ghee usually contains 60 to 62 percent saturated fat, the rest of which comes from monounsaturated fat.

Dietician Kara Herbstreet says that because ghee contains more saturated fat than other foods, drinking coffee mixed with ghee will make you feel satisfied in the morning. It is important to note that ghee (like butter) contains a lot of calories and fat. Experts are still debating how saturated fat affects the body. According to the American Heart Association, we should take only 5 to 6 percent of our total daily calorie requirement from such sources.
