By 6 April 2020, authorities have confirmed over 1.2 million cases of COVID-19 and around 69,000 coronavirus-related deaths globally. There was a day-on-day, week-on-week rise in all three reported categories: cases, deaths, and recoveries. According to Johns Hopkins’ Coronavirus Resource Centre, more than 2.6 lakh people have recovered from this infectious disease across the world.
In India, more than 4,000 people have been confirmed with COVID-19 infection and the more than 100 deaths have been reported so far. The relieving news among all this is that more than 300 people have recovered from this potentially dangerous disease.
The scientific community has been working day and night to find a cure for COVID-19. Doctors have tried and are working on various treatment options such as antibody treatment with tocilizumab, passive antibody therapy, tissue plasminogen activator and repurposing already existing drugs (Ebola drug and malaria drug for COVID-19) to treat this disease.
