According to the World Health Organisation, the total time from onset to clinical recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks.

However, the recovery of patients with severe or critical disease can take up to 3 to 6 weeks.

The patients are discharged only after clinical recovery, which means they have not developed a fever for 3 days, have no cough and the X-rays look clear. Their two PCR tests, taken 24 hours apart, should be negative in order to get discharged.

Even after getting discharged, they are asked to minimise family and social contact and wear a mask for a few weeks in order to reduce the risk of transmitting the disease. If a recovered person starts having any symptom all again, they must report to the previous hospital as soon as possible.
